King Otto associated with Bavaria – who ‘ruled’ through 1886 to 1913, and had been quite mad – exercised their right to shoot one peasant daily. Luckily for Bavaria’s peasants, their attendants gave him pistols loaded with blanks and dressed up as peasants, playing dead whenever he ‘shot’ them.
