In an amazing study of masterful craftsmanship and delicacy, Hillary Fayle, a student associated with embroidery, has created a series of leaves which have been cut and embroidered with exquisite and delicate decorative patterns.

She starts by layer each leaf in a non-toxic preservative that stiffens them up and protects them. Then, she slashes them into various forms and embroiders them or simply embroiders on to their uncut surfaces. “ I generally try to use green, sustainable and environmentally friendly materials intended for my art, so this was an evident choice, ” explains the artist.
